Yeah, I also grew up here and while the town is boring as hell, not everyone becomes a junkie. And that CBS special was crap. That was my senior year of high school and they interviewed a pastor's daughter who hadn't been out much. As someone who did frequent social occasions, at 26 years old, I still to this day have never seen heroin or any other hard drug, much less tried it. Neither has anyone else I've ever hung around with. There was maybe 5-10% of the kids that were into that crap, and it was because they were frequenting areas like Peoria and Chicago. Which is the exact reason why no one with half a brain spent time with that isolated fraction. The fact that the school board allowed that "news special" to be entertained is completely asinine and still frustrating, because it still has backlashes 9 years later. Also, this town is not a ghetto. There are no needles, razors, or powders strewn about. Sounds like the person above was in the wrong Ottawa...
